On June 7th, 2012, Moderator Agbenoxevi Mawuli Awanyoh (reading the selected bible verse) planted a bird cherry tree on behalf of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Togo. He was part of a small international delegation along with the General Secretary of the North German Mission Society, Hannes Menke, and the President of the Evangelical Church in Bremen, Brigitte Boehme, who were representing the partnership with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Togo and Ghana.
