Planting in the Luther Garden :

On January 13th, 2015, during a seminary study trip with seminarians, Academic Dean Craig L. Nessan (last row, 5th from right) planted a quince tree on behalf of Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, a seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

Planting the partner tree :

On May 8th, 2015, Dean Craig L. Nessan (left, next to the tree) and his students planted a pear tree as partner tree for Wartburg Theological Seminary. It can be found on the seminary campus next to the Dubuque Castle, which was modeled after the Wartburg in Eisenach, Germany.
