On  July 18th, 2017, Bishop Julian Gordy (right) and Regional Bishop Michael Grabow (left, watering the tree), together with congregation members from both churches, planted a small leaved linden tree on behalf of the partnership of the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church District of Augsburg and Swabia of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, Germany.
