Representatives of the 13 LWF member churches in Indonesia planted young mango, avocado, banana, and durian trees on the grounds of the Ecumenical Center in North Sumatra. The first three trees were planted by LWF President Bishop Munib A. Younan (2nd from left), LWF General Secretary Pastor Martin Junge (left), and representatives of the seven LWF regions. “May these trees grow as our communion in the Lutheran World Federation is growing,” declared LWF President Younan.
