Japanese Cake Tree Connects Gladbecker Lutheran Forum with Wittenberg Luthergarten. Friday, March 25th, 2011.

On March 25th, 2011, during a brief ecumenical liturgy, members of the Martin Luther Forum Ruhr planted a Japanese cake tree in the garden of the Martin Luther Forum Ruhr, supported by the Lord Mayor of Wittenberg Eckhard Naumann, District Official Cay Süberkrüb, Mayor Ulrich Roland, Church Superintendent Peter Burkowski, and Georg Rückert, who was the substitute pastor of the Catholic parish of St. Lamberti. At the conclusion of the tree planting, landscape architect Andreas Kipar gave an address about the meaning of the global project “Luthergarten” worldwide.
