Planting the partner tree :

On April 23rd, 2017, on the occasion of their 50th anniversary, Faith Lutheran Church in Sarasota, Florida, USA, planted a yellow flame tree as their partner tree. Unfortunately, that same night the tree was dug up and stolen. The replacement tree was severely damaged by Hurricane Irma in September 2017. The least damaged branch was cut off and grafted to the best trunk. In this way the partner tree was able to survive and has blossomed beautifully.
