On May 10th, 2017, Superior Sister Esther Selle (right) accompanied by Retired Rector Klaus Kaden (left, next to the Director of Studies of the LWF Center Wittenberg, Pastor Joachim Zirkler) and other colleagues planted a sweetgum tree on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Deaconess Institution in Dresden, Germany.

Planting the partner tree :

On October 31st, 2017, following a Reformation festival service, Martin Luther (Rector Dr. Thilo Daniel, 2nd from right) and Katharina von Bora (Superior Sister Esther Selle, pictured far right) planted a hawthorn tree near the deaconess mother house church and the butterfly house as partner tree for the diaconal community of the Evangelical Lutheran Deaconess Institution in Dresden, Germany.
