On October 4th, 2016, members of the partnership committees in Mtii and Güstrow planted a silver linden tree on behalf of their congregations that have been partners since 2007: the Evangelical Lutheran Congregation Mtii, Pare Diocese, Tanzania (ELCT) and the Evangelical Lutheran Cathedral Congregation Güstrow, Church District Mecklenburg, Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany.
On January 14th, 2018, during a shared worship service, Pastor Luca Mbazi, pastor of the congregation of Mtii, Tanzania, and Dr. Arnold Fuchs (3rd from left), representing the cathedral congregation of Güstrow in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, planted the first partner tree in Tanzania. Another partner tree was planted in Güstrow on Pentecost, May 31st, 2020, by representatives from both congregations.
