On August 29th, 2013, Bishop Alex Malasusa (pictured) planted a catalpa tree on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania.

Planting the partner tree :

On June 23rd, 2013, Presiding Bishop Alex G. Malasusa (front) planted a tree on the university grounds in Makumira on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania. Along with many congregation members and international guests, Pastor Martin Junge, General Secretary of the Lutheran World Federation, and Pastor Hans W. Kasch, Director of the LWF Center Wittenberg, took part in the tree planting.
