On July 15th, 2010, ahead of the General Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation in Stuttgart, Bishop Nils Rohwer (watering the tree) planted a common ash tree on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Southern Africa (Cape Church).

Planting the partner tree :

On July 12th, 2011, Pastor Walter Schwär planted a silver linden tree on the grounds of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cape Town as partner tree for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Southern Africa (Cape Church).
