Planting the partner tree :

On November 5th, 2010, the same day as Bishop Dr. Munib Younan planted a tree in the Luthergarten, olive trees were planted at many congregations, schools, and other partners of the Palestinian church, in remembrance that the olive twig is a Biblical sign of hope. Bishop Younan compared the olive tree as a symbol of hope with the “little apple tree” which Luther would have been ready to plant even if the world were ending. The tree pictured was planted in the courtyard of the Church of the Redeemer in Jerusalem.
