On March 21st, 2014, Bishop Agnes Sigurðardóttir (watering the tree) planted a “Rote Sternrenette” apple tree on behalf of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Iceland during a study trip for church staff and members.

Planting the partner tree :

On May 7th, 2014, Bishop Agnes M. Sigurðardottir (left, with spade) planted an Icelandic birch tree in Skalholt together with many church staff members as partner tree for The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Iceland. Skalholt is where the New Testament first was published in Icelandic in 1540.
