Planting in the Luther Garden :

On November 1st, 2009, the first 25 trees in the Luthergarten were adopted. President Emeritus Prof. Fritz Anders (reading the selected Bible verse) planted a field maple tree on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, Germany.

Planting the partner tree :

During a special morning prayer service on July 8th, 2015, Bishop Heinrich Bedford-Strohm (left) planted a partner tree in front of the church offices in Munich on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria. Also present was Prof. Fritz Anders (right foreground), who already took the spade at the Wittenberg tree planting.
