On April 18th, a church delegation, led by the Church President Manfred Rekowski (4th from left) planted a “Melanchthon-Birne” pear tree on behalf of the Protestant Church in the Rhineland, Germany (EKiR). Pastor John Riakman Sipayung (2nd from left) also took part in the tree planting, representing the Simalungen Protestant Christian Church (GKPS) in Sumatra, Indonesia, a long-standing partner church of the Protestant Church in the Rhineland.
