Planting in the Luther Garden :

On November 1st, 2009, the first 25 trees in the Luthergarten were adopted. Bishop Ilse Junkermann (reading the selected Bible verse, next to the Director of the LWF Center Wittenberg, Pastor Hans W. Kasch) planted a red maple tree on behalf of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany.

Planting the partner tree :

On March 27th, 2012, the partner tree for the Evangelical Church in Central Germany was planted in front of the church offices, the former “Collegium maius” of the university in Erfurt. The planting began with a prayer service, led ecumenically by Bishop Ilse Junkermann (4th from right), Bishop Dr. Joachim Wanke of Erfurt, General Vicar Raimund Sternal of Magdeburg, and children of the Protestant Elementary School in Erfurt.
