Volunteers Work in the Luther Garden

After completion of the 3^rd phase of construction of the Luther Garden, and the building of additional pathways, the shape of the Luther Garden is more recognizable. On June 21^st , 2011, 25 participants of the festival "Luther 500" worked voluntarily in the Luther Garden. At first they learned about the project, which is run by the Lutheran World Federation, then they started with vigor to remove weeds and to clear the tree pits to allow for better watering of the trees, so that the trees can continue to grow, even although it is very dry at this time. One of the young volunteers made the following comment: "It is cool to work physically here. It is fun, and makes our stay in Wittenberg more interesting and varying. It is a wonderful project which we like to support." Others have already started to make plans as to how they can involve their home congregation in the USA in this project. (21/06/2011)
