09.09.2015 Harvesting fruits in the Luthergarten

With fruit pickers, baskets and ladder the students of the Protestant Comprehensive School “Philipp Melanchthon” and the teaching staff met for harvesting the fruits in the Luthergarten. In bright sunshine one could see the fruits from far away. Right after the devotion, the children went to work, climbed up the ladder and carefully put the fruits into the baskets. It was a special experience to harvest the fruits and to be able to try them on site. Full of joy and gratitude they presented the rich harvest.
The domestic science teacher has already thought about how the fruits can be used. First of all, a plum cake will be baked, perhaps plum dumplings. Even jam is on the agenda, and of course, the fruits are also used for the morning break at school. Just in time for Thanksgiving also the quinces are ripe and can be manufactures into jelly.

"500 Years of Reformation - 500 trees in Wittenberg" - a successful reformation project, now also with positive aspects for the Protestant Comprehensive School "Philipp Melanchthon".
